4/28/19

Ah Brent, I've missed you a lot this week!
Here's our craziness in a nutshell:
-crazy oil change that ended up in broken lugnuts, broken speed sensor, and overnight trip for the Fit-haha (luckily they covered the cost for all of that since I only needed an oil change?!)
-Sweet visit from Uncle Briant (had a deposition in Logan) Monday night--lifted my whole week!!
-Tennis matches for Spencer (2)
-Track Meets for Emily (3, but one rained/hailed out)
-Anne in school play (at last a room big enough to hold her voice!)
-Dance Recital (Fabulous Breely did it again, this time in the High School Auditorium--so professional & uplifting--she's amazing, and the girls have loved every second!--Anne especially loves any excuse to be on stage!)
-Violin Recital (in this Beaver Dam Pioneer stained-glass chapel--surrounded by rolling hills and gorgeous scenery!!)
& dress rehearsals for all 3 on the same day--which was also the same day as 5 AM Youth Temple Trip!!, but fun to have a little payoff week and see the ways everyone is growing.
-EMILY MADE STUDENT COUNCIL!!!!--& SCORED 33 ON ACT!!!!

Dad also took Emily & Spencer up to Idaho for Daylen & Lexi's Open House (which was during violin recital--so sad to miss!)

I was struggling with knowing how to pray this week--I wanted to ask for blessings, but wasn't sure if it was right, and all I could see was either the blessings or being miserable without the blessings ,and neither pleading was bringing peace.  That early morning in the temple, I had a lot of sitting time, and as I was reading BoM, I felt like the Spirit was showing me a totally different option of how to look at things.  It was humbling, but such a relief of peace.  Dad & I were talking about it on our date night Friday night.  We were driving through Sardine Canyon, and it was SO lush & green as a rain storm blew through--and we literally drove through Mantua with double rainbows all around! (pictures don't do it justice). It was such a physical reminder of how the Lord blesses us---we paint a picture of what we think we want, and His plan for always seems to be way beyond the goodness we can imagine.

My favorite part of Come Follow Me today was the John 9:3 reminder that our hardships are not to punish us for our weaknesses, or even to make us miserable, but so that we have more opportunities to have the works of God manifest in our lives.

Love you lots! Carry on with all your goodness!
Love, Mom
