Maddie's summer orchestra had their concert last week, on a Thursday morning. Of course, we were running late, and got there in time for her last (of 3) songs, so we had a McDonald's lunch at the park afterward to make the outing seem worthwhile. Spencer chose the park because of this awesome caterpillar :). The other children mocked, but then couldn't resist.
I have LOVED this Utah summer--we are SURROUNDED by parks, nights and mornings are SO pleasant (EVEN IN JULY!!!!)--I still look for excuses to ride my bike through the neighborhood--I feel like I'm 10 1/2 again!
One bit of news: A girl in the ward asked me to sub for her in nursery this month. She'd already been released as a Nursery Worker, but they hadn't replaced her, so she was staying in there in the meantime. While she was out of town however, I was called to be a Nursery Worker, so my first week subbing was actually official! I get to be there w/ Anne AND Lucy, who gets in a few weeks early :). After being a Nursery Leader for Spencer, I LOVE Nursery. The only drag is that I think Lucy would have been one of the rare children to actually ENJOY going on her own, and now we'll never know!
And in an effort to avoid a Target Photography trip this year, I've been trying to convince myself that I can do enough w/ my little new camera. I've since heard photo shop programs make ALL the difference, but I'm still trying to be optimistic. We took advantage of the outdoor time to practice:
