Happy Heart

Happy Heart from BEAUTIFUL sunrises!

I have LOVED this Mindfulness class I've been taking.  Though MUCH more meditation than I thought (and hoped), I have seen such real effect on my well-being, sense of peace, attention span, concentration, and capacity for JOY.  So many great principles I'm learning of finding moments of stillness in life.

Happy Heart Day! Spencer and Anne had fun celebrating Valentine's Day at school.  We got to help at Anne's party, and Maddie even got 2 singing telegrams at the high school :).  We celebrated on Saturday by cleaning the church and having heart pizza for supper :).

Happy Blue and Gold Banquet!--Spencer's last! Our Cub leaders are amazing--we've had such phenomenal Blue and Golds--w/ crazy Angry Birds, homemade Nascar, and this year Knights of the Round table themes.

Happy Heart for Playgroup!  We say it's for the kids, but our Thursday mornings with friends is like therapy with these great women.  Here I am w/ Jane after walking up to our neighbor's one day--she really wanted a picture of cozy Jane, and this last week, we packed up our van w/ 12 of us for Free Zoo Day. Unseasonably warm temperatures for a Great trip, even if Jane and Lucy were still getting over colds and a bit grumpy :).

Happy heart from house projects!! Thanks to Brian's Amazing Hardworking Dad for coming 2 weekends in a row to work on finishing our laundry room! I was at my silent retreat for the first Saturday of their work, and spent the next Saturday (and some weekdays) scraping cupboards to have them ready to re-paint.  As Brian quipped after I thanked him, "I'm finishing a laundry room for another man's wife!" (whoever buys our house)

Happy Heart from Happy Baby.  Jane is in that speed-growing stage!--at least one new thing every day, and besides figuring out how to go down the stairs safely, feed herself (messily), drink from a cup, talk on a phone, brush her hair, and find her eyes, she has figured out how to CRACK US UP w/ her hilarious funny faces! She's famous for quitting the minute we get out the camera, but here's one good day! We've had a round of sickness the last week or 2, so we've missed these happy shows from her--also, her hair seems to be hanging on to curl!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUCY!!

We celebrated Friday the 13th with Lucy's 5th Birthday! She LOVES animal prints so much that she's even convinced this Mom that they might actually be cute.  We had Lucky Charms for breakfast as she opened her presents (notice beautiful bouquet of ROSES that Brian had DELIVERED(!!!) to me for Valentine's Day!!).  She had fun wearing new clothes, playing with legos, and cuddling her pink zebra.  We enjoyed a fruit tart that night while watching A Charlie Brown Valentine (w/ Lucy!).  Lucy is such spunky fun.  We love her fresh creativity and fun independence.  She takes care of herself when she's sick--putting herself to bed, cleaning up vomit, etc.!--only coming to me to say, "MOM--I NEED MEDICINE NOW"-and she's usually right! She LOVES taking care of babies and never tires of making Jane happy, she is a great singer and dancer, and is great at just enjoying life! About a week after her birthday, she started mentioning things I forgot to give her for her birthday, but since she says about EVERYthing--including parties, 5 different kinds of cakes, every Frozen item, and each baby doll she's laid eyes on, "Get that for my birthday Mom!"--I have tried to explain to her that there were MANY things I didn't get, since our house could never hold them all! Such a fun age, where so much makes her happy!
