HAPPY SUMMER!!

Happy Summer brownies made by Emily :)

May's always chock-ful of end of the year celebrations and concerts, so here's a glimpse of our finishing school year, including Kindergarten programs (we LOVE Mrs. Strawn who's helped Anne through this year of social awareness :) ), orchestra and band concerts, Science and Math Olympiad for Spencer and Emily, both competing in Krypto, a math puzzle game w/ cards, 6th grade dance (same day, notice same hair), and piano recital.
Year's Achievements: Emily: 2nd Place Krytpto Medal (3rd year in a row), "Hope of America" Award for 6th Grade civic and academic acuity
Spencer- Presidential Fitness (w/ our "neighbor cousin" Abby) and Perfect Attendance (!!)
Maddie--completing AP World History (no test score yet, but she did get a 4 on practice exam)
Brent-Outstanding Band Student Award, and after thinking all hope was gone (since spots were full in all other instruments), making it as pianist for the school's AWESOME Jazz Band
Anne-started last song of Suzuki book one, and is now reading at scripture time

Merritt's across the street had a smashing water party w/ bubbles, water slide, slipnslide, water balloons, sprinklers, etc., etc. for the last day of school, and other friends hosted a grand 6th grade party w/ swimming, volleyball, food and line dancing.

As things came to a close, we also enjoyed the Syracuse Memorial Day Service that Brian stays involved in w/ City Council duties (only the early-birds made it).  We tried Mueller Park snow-free for a family hike, and also enjoyed some cousin time at Fernwood Park & FHE w/ Dad & Kathy while Nate and Stacey were gone.
