4th of July
Happy 4th of July!!
We've had a lot of fun this weekend--Mom and Dad drove in from GA this week to celebrate G&G Mildenhall's 60th anniversary!! Such an accomplishment!! And ALL of the Mildenhall siblings were together to celebrate. We had a nice dinner up in Perry Friday night--enjoying some time w/ Nick and Laurie as well. Saturday, we took it easy--Dad helped us put together our new picnic table (as well as hooking us up w/ a wireless router, and changing our furnace filter--strange ideas of vacation that Grandpa has!, but THANK YOU!) while Brian ran to the nursery for some last garden supplies. We all went to the free swimming pool for a while in the afternoon, where the children could show off their new swimming skills from lessons we started this week. Then we came home for a great picnic outside w/ brats, corn on the cob, fresh melons, baked beans, and salad before driving over to a nearby park for fireworks in sweet, smalltown West Point! Aside from Anne still recovering from a rough cold this week, we had a great time w/ G&G here enjoying this great time of year!!
Grandma and Grandpa Mildenhall--60th anniversary!!
Brent & Maddie on the diving boards at the pool (We had 2 main goals for swimming lessons this year: 1- have Brent and Emily acclimated to the deep end and diving boards, and 2-to have Spencer swimming without a life jacket; Kudos to our great teacher Lynette Clark--from our last ward in Layton--we still have a week of lessons left, and we can already say, "Check! Check!")
Lucy at the pool--I realized later her swimming suit was on backwards, but she had fun in the water anyway!
Our 4th of July Picnic (on the 3rd of July)
Waiting for the fireworks with fresh kettle corn (thanks Grandpa!), a frisbee, and cardgames. We also had Brian's cousin Chaundra and family join us--they live right there in West Point, and had the same idea we did! We were actually on a church lawn to avoid the crowds, but still had great seats, and almost no traffic!
We love our country, and love Independence Day!! Love, The Duncan's
